Gradients of Growth, a solo exhibition by artist Deirdre Murphy, examines the impact of the Anthropocene climate on tree cavity-nesting birds and East Coast pollinator species through paintings and monoprints, focusing on ecological hope and environmental healing. Inspired by nest cavities found during her residency at the Lower Merion Conservancy, Murphy’s paintings feature portal views of natural scenes, while her print series, drawing from the Lehigh University Tremblay Herbarium collection, highlights the significance of herbariums in climate change research. Murphy’s work emphasizes the importance of awareness and collective effort in healing our warming earth.
